Hi, I'm Kweyakie Afi Blebo.

Kweyakie Afi Blebo is a Ghanaian social entrepreneur, digital transformation leader, data and AI practitioner, programme strategist and international speaker with over half a decade of experience across technology, education and digital equity. Her career began in software development and technology audit at Bank of Africa Ghana, where she worked on technology risk and controls in a regulated financial institution. She subsequently worked in data science and machine learning roles with organisations across Africa, North America and Asia.

She is the Co-founder and Programs Director of Because She Can (BSC), a pan-African organisation advancing gender equity in technology. Its digital-skills, mentorship and career programmes have reached more than 15,000 women and girls across 20+ African countries, connecting participants with skills development, devices and connectivity support, mentors and professional pathways.

Kweyakie recently returned to Ghana after a year at the Burkina Institute of Technology, where she served as a computer science lecturer and led Career Services. There, she taught AI, machine learning, big data and related subjects to over 700 undergraduate students, while leading student-development programmes and strengthening institutional and employer partnerships in Francophone Africa.

She has completed the academic requirements for an MA in Information Technology Law at the University of Ghana. Her growing technology-policy research explores AI governance and accountability, privacy, digital rights, telecommunications regulation and digital transformation, with a particular interest in the relationship between technical systems and institutional capacity.

Kweyakie serves on the Diversity and Inclusion in Scientific Computing (DISC) Committee at NumFOCUS. Her international leadership recognition includes selection for Obama Foundation Leaders Africa (2026–27), the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program (2025), African German Young Leaders in Business (2023) and UNESCO × Women@Dior (2026). An international speaker with over 60 engagements, she delivers keynotes, moderates panels and facilitates workshops on artificial intelligence, data science, digital equity, technology policy, career development and inclusive innovation.
